Worship

At Grace Baptist West Asheville our worship gatherings are designed to reflect our priorities as a church. Corporate worship at Grace Baptist West Asheville begins Sunday morning at 10:45am.  Grace seeks to corporately delight in the glory of God in every worship service.  In our gatherings we: 1. Read the Bible 2. Preach the Bible 3. Pray the Bible 4. Sing the Bible 5. See the Bible.  We believe that our services should form us together into the likeness of Christ, should unite us together as a faith-family, and should represent the rich diversity of which the Gospel message is intended.  We strive for multi-generational worship and that in turn be a bold witness to W Asheville that we are united in the Gospel message.

Our worship music emphasizes corporate singing while our liturgy emphasizes revelation and response through the themes that correspond to the Gospel story (God/Creation; Depravity of Man/Fall; Redemption/Atonement; Reconciliation/Glorification) and the biblical responses to those themes (Adoration/Praise, Confession, Assurance of Pardon, Thanksgiving, Benediction/Sending).  Our worship ministry is made up of volunteers who serve GBWA in multiple ways.  For them, worship ministry is a servant ministry.  They serve as an example of obedience to God when he commands “You shall worship the Lord your God and only he shall you worship” and herald the New Testament command of corporate singing.  Every Wednesday the worship ministry volunteers study the Bible together, pray for the gathering, and worship through rehearsal.

Sunday mornings at 9:30am there is a “Meaningful Membership Class” for prospective new members.  Attendance of this class does not begin the membership process, but we view the class as a way our visitors can learn about GBWA and talk through the Scriptures concerning the Church.
